Karwa Chauth fasting is done during Krishna Paksha Chaturthi in the Hindu month of Kartik and according to Amanta timetable followed in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Southern India it’s Ashwin month which is current during Karwa Chauth. still, it’s just the name of the month which differs and in all countries Karwa Chauth is observed on the same day.

Karwa Chauth day is also known as Karak Chaturthi(करक चतुर्थी). Karwa or Karak refers to the earthen pot through which water immolation, known as Argha(अर्घ), is made to the moon. Karwa is veritably significant during Puja and it’s also given as Dan to the Brahmin or any eligible woman.

Legends Behind Karwa Chauth-
Karwa Chauth falls in the wheat sowing season, which is at the morning of the Rabi crop season. In ancient times, the wheat was stored in huge earthen pots, also called ‘ Karwa’, and since it falls on the fourth day of the Kartik month, it began to be called Karwa Chauth. Women would supplicate for their misters to reap a rich crop. also there’s the belief that if unattached women observe a presto on this day, they’re likely to get the mate of their dreams.
Karwa Chauth symbolises the spirit of love and affection between a woman and her hubby. Some Bollywood flicks have also beautifully depicted how Karwa Chauth is celebrated across the country.

As the night progressed, Veervati started passing thirst and hunger. She came uneasy, and it was delicate for her to keep presto. still, she still refused to eat or drink anything. Her family could n’t see her suffering and decided to come up with a result.
They created a glass with a pipal tree in the vicinity and made Veervati believe that the moon had risen. She believed them and broke the fast. incontinently, she got the news that her hubby was dead. She was fully devastated and left for her hubby’s house.
She stopped by Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, who told her the entire verity. Maa Parvati cut her cutlet and gave a many drops of blood to Veervati. Veervati sprinkled the holy blood on the dead body of her hubby. Her hubby came alive due to the immolation, immense love, and devotion of Veeravati, the values we associate moment with Karwa Chauth.
